this is july 2004 .. we had just bought a new play ground .. and in true jeff fashion it sat in the garage in boxes for a few weeks before we started the assembly process ..
ellie was a great helper though ..
and in a week or two .. it was almost together .. and then
and big storm .. the next summer ..
we were eating dinner at cherokee and a big storm blew in .. i remember thinking to myself .. man it is windy .. i hope we don't loose that nice big shade tree over ellie's play ground .. we come home to this ..
which means tractors and chain saws ..
the biggest part of the tree fell right over the swing set part of the playground ..
it was a huge mess ..
dad and grandpa worked until dark to get the big limb cut up and off the play ground ..
ellie even helped out a bit .. and then this happened
remember the big storm that we had just a few weeks ago .. the one where the kids and i were out in the front yard watching the storm blow in and the neighbors were giving me strange looks .. the storm that made me holler "to the pantry" .. the storm that uplifted our nice glass patio table and smashed it into the playground scattering millions of pieces of glass all over the sand .. ok .. so now .. onto our new project ..
we are tearing down the old play ground .. YEA !!! .. we are going to get a new one .. and move it over to the nice flat spot between our house and granny and grandpa's house .. so we moved all those very heavy concrete blocks last night ..
see no blocks .. just a mess .. the weeds have taken over in the worst way because we don't play it anymore because it is all covered with bits and pieces of glass .. from the last storm ..
now we just have to wait until dad gets home so that he can get little blue out .. we need to scoop up all the sand and mulch and level out some dirt ..
so .. dad .. if you are reading this .. when you get back from your super fun time in the cool cool mountains of colorado .. we have a project for you ..
