can you believe it .. me either .. i think that i am still in a bit of a "holy cow daze" .. i was really beginning to think that i would not get in .. i am not a very lucky person when it comes to winning things .. i never made bingo ever .. i know .. pretty sad .. my ticket is never drawn for the door prize .. my name never pulled out of the hat for a free lunch ..

in case you were wondering just how far a marathon is .. it is just a little over 26 miles .. really ... 

i know .. think how many oreos i am going to be able to eat !!

i am pretty sure that they are not a "training food" .. at least not for a marathon ..

so .. mark your calendars for nov 6 .. 

i will keep you posted on how my training is coming .. that kinda sounds funny doesn't it .. me .. running a marathon .. at 40!!

all i can say is run momma run !!

p.s.  gabe this means that next time i come in you might have to rub my feet and not my shoulders .. !!

Monitor ..

I am monitoring state testing today .. Remember those tests with all the little bubbles on them .. I bought my state testing survival kit with me .. Magazines .. My planner and coffee .. This is a great way to start a day if you ask me .. Except that I am in the science teachers classroom .. I am not sure I will be able to contain myself !!! I may have to break out a microscope ..

Ellie got this in her Easter basket today .. You know .. Those silly things you jumble all up and then try to put back together .. So she got it jumbled .. The putting back together .. That took a bit .. When I left the room she had just a few more to get .. She was getting frustrated with the whole process of moving the tiles around .. Seconds later she comes skipping into the bathroom .. I got it mom she proclaims .. Great job I say !! There's just one piece left over that I can't get back in .. What ? .. I say .. Yea .. I just took them all out and put it back together the right way .. Oh ok I say .. How about those problem solving skills !

busy busy ..

so sorry that i have not posted in a few days .. but my arms .. and legs and back and oh ok .. my whole entire body have not been able to move or stand up straight until today .. i haven't even been able to run i have been so ding dang sore .. and how can that be .. how can raking mulch into a bucket and then driving the bucket to another flower bed via and ranger and then throwing the mulch into the flower bed make ones body so stiff and un-functional .. and really i didn't even do most of the work .. cash did ... except the driving of course only because his feet can't reach the pedals .. thankfully

cash put the cones out for "safety reasons" .. i tripped over them about 900 times and then finally moved them .. and yes i got an awwww mom .. what are you doing .. that's for safety and noah always says that you have to be safe .. well .. not today cash .. no safety today .. cash then responds with well i guess we can have ice cream for dinner .. i am still trying to figure the connection out on that one ..

this is why i have not been able to post .. my arms and legs won't let me .. 

i put my name in the hat ..

i threw my name into the hat for the 2011 New York City Marathon .. since i am not a professional marathon runner (that kinda sounds funny to me)  .. i am not an automatic in .. this means that my name along with lots of other names will be thrown into a hat .. i should know by the end of april if my name was one of the names drawn .. i will keep you posted ..

why you ask would i want to fly all the way to new york and run .. 

lots of reasons .. some good some silly ..

i have a dear friend who lives there .. i want to see her and her sweet baby Molly and her fun husband Patrick .. i want to take ellie to ellis island and show her the statue of liberty .. i want to take cash to the empire state building .. i want to get cupcakes from the magnolia bakery .. i want to shop .. i want to walk up and down the streets at night and peer into the windows of all the wonderful stores .. the list goes on ..

most of all i want to run the new york marathon because i turned 40 this year .. 

a big award and then girls night out .

friday night i had the honor of being invited to attend an awards ceremony for ruth .. my friend and 

co-conspirator at work .. she was being inducted into the National Honor Society for Psychology .. psi chi .. as they call it .. 

so we put on our sassy dresses and shoes .. it was semi-formal attire after all and went .. the ceremony was very neat .. they inducted quite a few people ...

seeing how neither of us had our darling perfect children with us .. we thought .. why waste a perfect evening .. so we did not .. we took ourselves out to dinner and drinks and girl conversation .. conversation that did not revolve around nose picking or dirty stinky feet ..

it was a wonderful evening .. 

i see lots more "award ceremonies in ruths future !

cash went to hamptons .. do you think he had a good time ?

i had some continuing education to take care of a few fridays ago which lasted until about 5 .. liz (hamptons mama) was nice enough to let cash go home with her and hampton and baby harper .. you would have thought that the monster trucks had come to live at our house .. cash was beyond excited .. we counted down the days !

yes .. he had a great time .. yes he screamed and yelled for 10 minutes that he did not want to go .. our house is boring .. we don't have dirt or rocks .. i am boring because i don't have popsicles like liz does .. i want to live here .. with hampton and liz and the pospsicles and the dirt and the rocks .. 

that can be arranged i said ..

oh ms. penny ..

remember this .. meltdown .. the small .. ok kinda medium exhaustion induced meltdown that i had recently .. well ms. penny heard about it to .. 

and boy oh boy did she come to my rescue .. 

she made cash his very own guaranteed to put you to sleep and stay asleep pillow case .. washed in "very special" soap .. it even has his most favorite things in the whole world on it ..

"right here momma" .. cash says .. this is where ms. penny put her love .." i can rub on it and give you some of her love to if you want ?"

no i'm good cash i say .. ms. penny's love is for you .. 

momma just wants to sleep thru the night ..

and boy does it work .. cash has gone to bed and stayed in bed ever since it arrived on wednesday .. he wakes up every morning and tells me how great he slept .. i tell him how great i slept and the world is now a happier place 

supercross ... BQ style

if you asked me if i wanted to go the the super cross this weekend .. most likely i would not have said yes with much enthusiasm .. if you asked me if you could whisk me away to saint louis .. put me up in a very nice hotel .. have someone rub on my feet and back .. feed me a great steak and buy me some shoes .. i would have said YES .. and when do we leave ..

that is kinda what happened ..

and if you are really really lucky this can happen .. to those of you folks who have no clue about the super cross world this is james bubba stewart .. the fella in the blue hat .. jeff is about to shake his hand .. cash is in awe and ellie can't form her words fast enough .. it was really neat if you are into the super cross thing ..

and yes it was dirty .. but the main event race .. the very last one .. makes sitting in the dirt and exhaust worth it .. plus .. i got a little quality time with my family ..
