and dad says i thought i ordered a red truck ..

this showed up today .. 

and yes freightliner is a semi .. as in semi trucks .. the kind that you see with big trailers attached to the back of them full of oreos going down the highway .. 

it is a monster of a truck .. 

it even has a cb radio .. so you can talk to all your trucker buddies .. 

and as many buttons and switches as a airplane .. and no we have no idea what any of them do .. 

this is the "shifter" .. you must park in neutral and put on the parking brake ... emphasis on putting on the parking break part .. you must start in neutral .. you must go thru neutral to get to reverse .. neutral is very important .. if you are not sure just put it in neutral .. 

and for the small passengers who will ride in their car seats in the back .. an entertainment console .. that is a 13 inch screen .. yes .. 13 inches .. 

see big big big truck .. 

and did i mention the horn .. press play .. 

after cash and jeff got home from soccer practice we all jumped into the big big big truck and took it for a spin down to reasors and back .. grandpa drove there and jeff drove back .. 

it makes jeff's truck look like a little baby truck ..

last friday night ..

last friday night we headed to oklahoma city .. we stayed in bricktown .. i had forgotten how fun bricktown can be .. we checked into the hotel .. and then headed toward bricktown .. i love that you can walk everywhere and then cross the street and be right back at the hotel .. 

we were heading to mickey mantles for a big ole steak .. 

i stopped along the way to take a few pics of the kids .. there were about a million spots to stop and take pics .. but i was hungry so we only stopped at a few ..

cash was not in the picture taking mood ..

ellie was .. she always is ..

while ellie and i were touching up our lip gloss in the restroom jeff grabbed the camera and cash and went outside .. when i downloaded the pictures this is what i found .. cash on the "ps" buffalo .. he leaves off the first sound on several words so instead of saying ups it comes out as "ps" .. he is going to be a "ps" man for halloween .. 

the new devon building .. it is going to be very tall 

i love all the buildings downtown ..

after more pictures and more walking around we headed back to the hotel .. hank and denise brought hunter over to swim and then we were going to bed .. we were heading to norman on saturday for the ou game .. we had to rest up !!

homecoming parade ..

last week was homecoming .. we played the commerce tigers .. the 3rd grade's theme was we eat the tigers for breakfast ..

this is the first grade float ..

after we dropped ellie off at her class float .. cash and i found a spot along the parade route to watch .. and to catch the candy that they throw out .. this is most important .. especially if you are cash .. 

lucky for us our spot was also by a fence that cash could climb all over ..

the football players came by on the firetruck .. cash wanted to ride on that float ..

the elementary cheerleaders ..

after the parade everyone goes over to the football field .. the booster club cooks hot dogs .. kids run around .. you eat cheetos and drink pop and roll in the grass .. it was a great night !!

got to love small town homecoming parades and school spirit  .. i sure do !

signs from the bathroom ..

after we ate lunch on monday we rode along hwy 10 (i think)  which runs along the illinois river .. i was needing some chocolate so we pulled into this little store to buy some m&m's and go to the bathroom .. 

bathrooms at little stores like this can be 2 things ..

1) gross and filthy 

or

2) entertaining .. 

this one was entertaining .. 

inside the very very clean restroom there were signs posted all over the walls .. it made for some very interesting reading while i was in the bathroom .. so interesting that i thought i would whip out my phone and take some pictures .. aren't you glad that i didn't call you .. 

this makes me wonder just how expensive they are .. and no noah i did not ask them what their layaway terms were .. and now that i think about it i don't remember seeing any kayaks .. ummmm .. maybe that is only during the summer .. next time i will ask .. 

prepaid debit cards .. you have to at least put $5 on it .. so your $5 will really cost you $9.95 .. maybe you should just give the person the cash 

not old ones .. new ones .. 

are oregon saw chains .. not chain saws .. and files better than say michigan saw chains and files ?

don't think you can buy a pair of rope sandals .. float the river and then try to bring them back .. 

sorry .. there are no returns on rope sandals .. 

now .. i guess you could bring back your oregon saw chains or file .. that sign didn't say anything about no returns ..

i asked him if this means that if you want to pack up your 2 kids and a picnic lunch and go sit along side the riverbank and eat turkey sandwiches .. cheetos .. oreos and drink orange pop and throw rocks you have to pay $1 ..

no mam .. he says .. 

oh ok .. good .. i was thinking that the river belonged to everyone .. it was free .. i said 

you would have to pay $4 .. that is if your "friend" comes along with you .. i am hoping that he was meaning jeff .. who was sitting outside yelling at his phone because he could not get the map app to work right .. 

oh i said .. 

Lyssa won a poster contest .. so they printed off her poster and posted it in the bathroom .. 

consider it a public safety announcement .. 

just in case you left any of these items at home .. or need to start your christmas shopping early ..

no gift wrapping is not available .. sorry .. 

there were so many more that i wanted to take pictures of but there was this lady outside who kept banging on the door and hollering at me to hurry up in there .. 

geeezzzz are you going to take all day she said .. 

then she stated to pull on the door handle and make the door shake so i thought .. for my safety .. i better wrap it up .. 

when i did open the door she walked right in as i was walking out and we got stuck .. just for a moment .. i said in my meanest biggest voice i could muster at the time .. it was hard to breathe .. just wait a minute "in-a-hurry-holly" and you can go in .. to my complete disbelief she stepped back .. victory to the little people !!

well it took you long enough lady .. she said 

so i smiled sweetly and told her to have a nice day ..

too bad i used the last of the toilet paper and paper towels .. 

a little beauty time on sunday ..

ellie noticed that cash was in desperate need of a pedi on sunday afternoon .. oh cash .. have you seen your toes .. yuck she says .. what's wrong with my toes he asks her ..

you need a pedicure in the worst way .. come with me ..

mom .. she hollars .. i am going to give cash a pedi .. 

ok .. i say .. just make sure you do it in the utility room .. 

jeff was outside down by the lake burning .. otherwise this would have NEVER happened !!

she even let cash choose a color from the "barbie collection"

hold very still cash .. you can't wiggle or i will mess up .. and you don't want me to mess up .. 

so he sat very very still .. i have never seen him sit this still in his whole life ..

cash actually choose 2 different shades of polish .. so ellie .. being the problem solver that she is alternated the colors on his toes .. 

so clever that bbq

Brain break

mom took cash to school .. Ellie is at school .. the weather is perfect .. so we are going to take a brain break .. be back at 3 !

friday night movie night ..

friday night was carpet picnic movie night .. it seems like we don't get to do this often enough .. when cash and i got back from tulsa we scooped up ellie from granny's and headed to reasors .. we hit the red box and picked out 2 movies .. then we got some sun chips and nacho cheese doritos .. it was movie night after all .. you can have nacho cheese doritos ..  then we hit the subway and headed home .. 

cash made our picnic area .. 

then we sit and watch our movies and eat dinner .. cash picked cat and the hat and ellie picked cats and dogs .. they were both great movies .. especially cats and dogs .. 

it was a great way to spend a cool and rainy friday night ..
