The Tree is Up !!

Here she is ... a 7.5 ft beauty .. we finally had to get a bigger tree .. after 16 years of collecting ornaments my little 3.5 ft tree was to small ..

we had to have our lights trucked in this year ..

cash did a great job .. he had them all tied down with ratchet straps and tie downs ..

he was so proud of himself .. didn't lose or damage one light in the transport process .. he is a professional i am telling you .. need anything moved he is your man !

On sunday the kids and i put up our tree .. jeff put our little santa and his reindeer up by the gate .. that is about all the christmas spirit that he can handle .. poor jeff .. i have wanted lights on our house ever since we got married .. it has been a big NO .. all 16 years .. then we had kids and i thought for sure i would get lights on the house .. still NO !! A few years ago we got a hand-me-down santa and his reindeer from hank and denise .. some years he puts it up .. some years he does not .. it is not a pleasant experience is all that i can say .. screws get dropped in the grass .. and lost forever .. until be mows over them in the spring and they ruin his mower .. batteries on drills run out .. i don't hold santa in the right spot .. the reindeer are out of order .. ellie gives instructions on how he should do .. cash chimes in "yes dad .. do it e's way .. " .. rudolph slides down his pole .. this is not a pleasant family event .. cash probably added a few unwanted words to his expanding vocabulary .. so after poor santa went up jeff was done with christmas decorating .. so scrooge watched football in the bedroom while the kids and i were listening to christmas music in the living room and decorating the tree

and i will have to say that it turned out quite pretty .. ellie got all the ornaments organized and categorized .. we have no real theme to our tree .. we buy ornaments that we like .. cash has tractors (surprise) and big trucks (another surprise) .. ellie has ballerinas .. i have all kinds .. and each one of them represents something or another .. ellie can tell you the story behind every one of them .. so if you feel like learning the history of the spielmann christmas tree ornaments .. come on over .. i will make some hot chocolate and she will fill you in ..
