our big weekend .. part 1

this weekend we had a big big big celebration ..

uncle jay was there ..

papa was there ..

cousins were there .. some that we have not seen in 16 years .. others that we have not seen in 1 year ..

these belong to will now .. they used to belong to his older brother brayden .. he has since outgrown them .. they have been handed down .. little tiny hand me down spurs .. cash has a pair of these .. not hand me down spurs .. but spurs .. terry todd got them for him when he was a baby .. they fit on his tiny ostrich skin cowboy boots .. unlike will and brayden .. cash did not really get to use his .. will and brayden .. they do .. on a very regular basis .. and in case you are wondering .. brayden .. he is wearing his daddy's hand me down spurs that he wore when he was 7 ..

and yes .. cake .. from ann's bakery .. it was the most delicious cake .. who is pop you ask .. he is jeff's grandpa .. and he turned 90 ... it was quite a fun celebration .. to be continued ..

date night .. for the big kids ..

last week we had a big kids date .. matt, sammie, jeff and i all meet here to see eric clapton ..

we had great seats .. it was an amazing show .. we got to sit most of the time and just listen to him .. there were 4 songs that i was hoping he would sing that he didn't .. but i am very happy with what he did sing .. he even sat and sang some acoustic stuff .. really .. it does not get any better than that .. it was a great night !

what i come home to ..

i pull into my driveway the other night and i have lots of fun and wonderful things to greet me .. bikes .. thats ok .. the weather has been nice and the kids have been on their after school .. they ride down to grand point with granny ...

oh no .. this is not a good sign .. something must have needed a little hammerin .. i am hoping that it was not anything serious ..

these are those things that you try to hit your croquet ball through .. i am not sure what they are called .. these in the very back corner of the garage ..

so he must have shoveled a bit .. played a little croquet and then done a few repairs .. this would have been fun to see .. what a way to spend an afternoon ..

 

Anyone need any dozer work done .. ?

with the nice weather that we have been having cash has moved all his heavy equipment outside .. YEA .. do you hear me cheering very loudly .. this is not so good for my flower beds or plants ..

this used to have pansies  in it .. before the bobcat moved in and relocated them all ..

this is what he does with the dirt .. piles it up in corners .. and then pulls rocks from the flower beds and piles them into the dirt ... he has also unscrewed all the mallets from their poles .. and stacked them in the dirt .. it is going to be a dirty spring at our house ..

Date Night ..

it's date night .. this means that these guys are hanging out together .. that also means that i am hanging out with these ..

i love my date .. he is taking me for a spin .. to my most favorite place ..

down our road .. it was a perfect night to run .. cool .. not a breath of wind .. just me and my boys .. prince .. bon jovi .. green day .. nickel back and emimem ..

meet motivation .. those silly girl scouts .. i really wish that they would not sell thin mints .. and then i really wish that i would not feel the need to buy 18 boxes .. and then put them in the freezer so that the cookies are really really cold ... and i really wish that i would not eat them a sleeve at a time ... but then there would not be any motivation to go on a date with my shoes and my boys ..

Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss ..

it is Dr. Seuss week at school .. on tuesday ellie's class celebrated his birthday .. cash and i heard that there were going to be cupcakes at the party so of course we attended ..

i mean really .. who does not love cupcakes .. and check out that candle bokeh ..

a handful of parents also came and read their favorite Dr. Seuss book .. that is carson's mom .. she teaches english at the high school .. she read a super silly book that had all kinds of fun rhymes in it ..

this is ellie's class .. and her teacher ... thang 2 .. oh i mean mrs. vaughn .. i got to read green eggs and ham .. sam i am .. and then the kids got to try green eggs .. i am not so sure how this turned out .. cash was ready to go .. he did not want to stay for green eggs sam i am .. so we left .. no green eggs for us ..

my desk ...

yesterday while ellie was learing all kinds of fun things at school and cash was out crashing into barb wire fences on his dirt bike .. i had myself a little diet coke and did some work .. i installed some upgrades on my phone and put some new music on my ipod .. when i start to know the order that all the songs are in .. while i am running .. that means it is time for new music ... i love putting on new music .. i love not knowing what song comes next .. it is a surprise .. and who doesn't like surprises .. you can see that cash stopped by to leave his bull dozer and take a big drink of my diet coke before he went back out for one final lap on his dirt bike .. i am not sure what i am going to do about that yet .. and yes the barb wire fence left a mark ..
