so tomorrow ..

so tomorrow is open house .. you know .. where you take all your school supplies .. meet the teacher .. pick out a desk .. drop off your kleenex and clorox wipes .. that day ..

i have known about it for weeks .. the school supplies have been sitting on the pool table for .. weeks ..

it just occurred to me TONIGHT .. like at 9:15 when i had just gotten back from my run .. that I had not made one label .. for anything .. not a one 

ellie is in bed .. because we are on school schedule after all .. probably just about to fall asleep when this fact occurs to me .. 

ellie i holler .. i think i scared her .. like something was wrong with me .. like i needed help .. 

what mom she answers .. a little panic in her voice .. 

we didn't make labels for your school supplies ..

oh mom .. she wails .. i have to have labels .. you just can't write on my binder with a sharpie ..

wake up .. we will do it right now .. 

look thru the font book and choose a font and then grab the dingbat book and find a dingbat and quick .. it's 9:30 and you should be in bed .. 

so after picking a font .. the dingbats she picked are not installed on my new computer .. had i been a little more ahead of the power curve instead of underneath it this would not have happened .. that doesn't mean that i can't install the dingbats tomorrow .. print out new labels and put them on her stuff on wednesday .. 

yes .. i  know .. i need help .. yes the kind that you pay for .. i know .. 

so .. it's now 10:15 .. ellie's school supplies are labeled and stacked neatly by the door ..

all ready to go .. just like they have been ready for weeks ..
