their trip .. part two .. colorado

because before you set out for an adventure in the mountains of colorado you have to have breakfast in your pj's and slippers .. and look granpda is all ready to go ..

what can you say about this .. granpda and his best boy .. his chainsaw buddy .. his helper .. with the colorado mountains as a back drop .. on a beautiful day .. really .. life is wonderful isn't it ..

but wait .. then there is this .. grandpa and his princess ellie .. with the colorado mountains as a back drop .. on a beautiful day ..

look .. i have rubbed off on ellie .. poor grandpa .. he probably had to pull over and stop a zillion times so that ellie could take pictures ..

they explored some closed mines this day and ran across this fallen down log home of sorts ..

it was full of sticks .. cash loves sticks and rocks and dirt because they go in the back of his dump truck .. or in his pockets .. or both .. so he gathered up some sticks .. he was going to take them back to the camp site ..

so he gathered and stacked and gathered and stacked ..

see .. all good to go .. now we just need to put them all in the back of the ranger .. granpda can you bring the ranger around so that i can put all these sticks in the back .. well .. what if we come back and get them cash .. oh .. ok ..

while they were out .. grandpa cut up a fallen tree for firewood for the camp fire that night ..

which means that cash had to get out his chainsaw as well and help out ..

now we have to load it into the back of the ranger .. i am hoping that cash is not thinking to himself .. where are all my sticks going to go grandpa .. and i am thinking .. look how big those logs are that my kids are carrying .. and to think that i carried the beauty bucket all the way up to mom's this morning because ellie said that it was to heavy ... whatever ellie ..

"snow .. we saw snow in june mother  !!" .. ellie says to me .. mother .. why are you calling me "mother" .. have you been disconnected from me for to long ..

what a view .. i am glad that grandpa stopped so that they could get this picture .. and me .. i am thinking to myself .. god .. why did i not send my big camera with the wide angle lens with her ..

and this is how the day ended .. poor cash .. he passed out and didn't make it to the campfire .. it must have been all the chainsawing .. you will notice that she is sitting in her pj's .. by the campfire with granny and granpda .. ok .. i am weepy now .. if she doesn't realize how amazing that moment is right now .. she will later .. and she will be overcome with emotion ... just like i am now .. and i bet granny and grandpa never thought that one day in their lives that they would be sitting around a campfire with their grand kids .. just like we used to do when i was say 7 years old .. ellie will tell this story to her kids .. just like i have told her the stories about when i went camping when i was her age .. good gosh .. i have to quit .. no more .. i don't know if i will able to make part 3 or part 4 ..
