bowling .. it's all about the gutter guards

after we celebrated a late family birthday dinner we took mom and dad to one of our most favorite and fun places in st. louis .. the flamingo bowl .. it turns into a bar at 9 .. so if you are going to bowl with kids in tow .. you must be out by 9 .. not bowl the last few frames and then go to the bathroom and then turn in your shoes and pay and then leave at 9:15 .. 

your under 21 aged children and their feet must be on the pavement outside the door the second that it turns 9 pm ..

we learned this the hard way last year .. 

so we made plans to eat very early and then bowl very early so that we could be out way before 9 ..

silly rules ..

bowling alleys are all high tech now .. i love that ..

 i am sure that i could not remember how to keep score 

grandpa was trying to show ellie how to bowl .. 

she bowls like me .. all over the place .. gutter guards a must if you want to score any points at all

no matter how many times grandpa showed him .. 

because you look cool hanging out at the bowling alley with a toothpick in your mouth ..

granny showed him how to bend down and "push" it down the alley .. 

and as you can see .. it didn't work very well ..
