the blue hole ..

ellie was reading in her new mexico highlights about the blue hole ..

just so happens that we were going to drive right by it on the way to albuquerque ..

so in true griswald fashion we stopped to "look at it"

next thing i know i am fishing swim suits out of suitcases 

the blue hole is a bell shaped sink hole that is 80 feet across on the surface 

and 130 across at the bottom .. it is 81 feet deep and stays a constant 64 degrees .. it is feed by a natural spring with 3000 gallons of water a day .. scuba divers from all over come to dive the blue hole .. evidently it's walls are smooth all the way down .. there are also many underground caves that have claimed the lives of at least 2 divers .. they have since closed off the opening to the tunnel that leads to the caves with a grate ..

today starts day 1 of the first leg of our big summer trip ..

headed to new mexico !

not only did aunt johanna make delicious bbq but she also brought the babies ..

remy is a lover .. he cuddles every chance he can get .. especially with his momma ..

wesley .. he's a hoot !!

his laugh is infectious .. he has more energy than cash ..

he loves trains and chips and playing in the rain ..

i can't wait to see them again !

memorial day part 2 ..

jeff and cash came home from walmart one day with this ..

after many hours of not reading the directions and hollering for "babe help please"

the purchase was assembled

uncle greg and aunt johanna did a SUPER job on the ribs and brisket 

 we are still licking bbq off our faces !

it is a strange feeling .. but i think that we will be ok
