Donkey Basketball .. ???

have you ever been to donkey basketball .. ?  my guess is no .. well .. it is just what it sounds like .. "players" ride around the gym floor on donkeys and try to make a basket .. it is the funniest thing that i have ever seen .. well .. they came to ketchum on tuesday night .. big fundraiser for the booster club ..

the donkeys have this all figured out .. they buck and kick .. stop quickly and put their heads down so that people fall off ..

and then they run so that you can't catch them and get back on ..

lots of people came to see the leaders of our community play donkey basketball ..

and then at half time they give rides to the kids .. let me get this straight .. you want me to put my kid on a donkey that bucks .. kicks .. runs .. and then drops his head so that you fall off head first .. yes mamm he says to me .. oh ok .. well .. in that case .. get on ellie ..

Spring .. we love you ..

this is my favorite time of year .. the redbuds and dogwoods are blooming ..

things are pushing their way up thru the ground ..

pretty colors are everywhere ..

small blossoms and bright green leaves ..

birds singing to one another .. saying oh .. isn't the weather lovely .. why yes it is .. i sure wish that jenny would fill our bird feeder up again so that we could have a snack .. me to .. everything is coming back to life .. the sun is setting later giving us more time to play outside and enjoy all things green and alive again ..

so that we can come inside and blow all the pollen out of our nose .. take our allergy medicine .. and try to see thru our watery eyes to do our homework .. like i said .. i love this time of year ..

time to hunt eggs ..

cash got a bit of a head start ..

and then we let the rest of the big kids go ..

jay and greg did a great job of hiding all 174 eggs ..

but the hunters were smarter and faster than the hiders .. it was a great way to spend a day ..

Easter Breakfast ...

 .. before we had a big ole spaghetti lunch followed by an easter egg hunt with eggs laden with chocolate we had a big breakfast .. after all you need some protein before you ingest all that chocolate .. right ..

so we put the kids to work so that hank .. denise .. and i could enjoy our coffee .. kinda .. the kids worked on the fruit ..

cash does a pretty good job with the knife upside down ..

hello there jimmy dean ... why don't you jump onto my plate .. you and your friends ..

and last but not least .. real honest to goodness buttermilk pancakes .. and just for the record .. i think that is the best batch mimi has ever made .. so we all ate and then took showers and ate some more and then hunted eggs and then ate candy .. it was a great day ..

what cash did at soccer ..

check out his very dirty knees .. we had spent the first half of practice over on the playground in the mud ..

look .. i can chase the ball to ..

i almost got it .. look out mom .. here it comes .. kick it back to me ..

yea .. this is going to be so much fun .. playing in the mud .. running around .. chasing the soccer ball ..

when do we get to come back ..

oh .. and then there is this .. what can i say .. he had to go .. i was busy taking picutres and before i knew it he had dropped his pants and was watering the soccer field .. notice the soccer undies and that he is watching ellie kick the ball .. he can multitask !!!

the training wheels are off ..

so the other night ellie and i are still up at mom's .. ellie is practing her spelling on mom's computer .. remember my was in the shop .. and i was finishing up my miles on the treadmill .. jeff calls and tells us that cash is riding his bike without the training wheels .. well .. ellie and i run home and see these laying on the ground .. oh my .. it seems that when they got home they were watching "nitro circus" on MTV .. and there were a bunch of washed up motorcrossers doing bike tricks .. well .. cash says oh dad i can do that .. lets take off my training wheels .. so out into the garage they go .. it's 8 at night and dark outside ..

look at him go .. he didn't even bobble once ..

he can turn both directions .. he can even honk the horn ..

so watch out .. i am pretty sure that he is going to crash .. big .. soon

Ellie's playing soccer ...

jeff signed ellie up for soccer .. this means that she needed soccer cleats ... shin guards .. socks .. a new soccer ball .. and shorts .. so on date night a shoppin they went ..

doesn't she look like a soccer player .. ok except for the fact that her shorts say dance on them ..

let's just say .. the standing on the sidelines watching soccer practice did not last long .. he jumped in every chance he got .. running out onto the field .. showing ellie what to do .. where to run ..

see he is standing in the goal .. they were practicing penalty kicks ..

kick it in ellie .. the games don't start until next saturday .. at the end of the first practice "coach" was telling the parents that his goal is for the kids to have fun and learn some of the fundamentals of soccer .. it didn't matter if they won or lost .. let's just say that we didn't even make it back to the truck before if you play .. you play to win comes out .. i will keep you posted ..
