the rocket launch ..

there was a rocket launch scheduled for early wednesday morning while we were in orlando ..

yes we went ..

and i am so glad that we did 

we set our alarm for 1:30 am ..

woke the kids up .. got dressed .. and headed downstairs to hop in the car .. 

we got just a few strange looks while walking thru the lobby ..

the kids had their backpacks and pillows ..

i had my camera and tripod and jeff was carrying the computer ..

strange .. 

we parked across from cape canaveral on a cargo access road for the cruise ships .. 

got the camera all set up and waited ..

at T minus 4 minutes they put a hold on the launch for weather ..

oh no we thought .. what if they don't launch ..

but about 45 minutes later the count down resumed ..

we could hear the count down ..

10 .. 9 .. 8 ..

we counted along with them .. 

and then all of sudden the horizon lit up .. 

cash said "it looks like the sun is coming up"

it was loud and bright and amazing .. 

we watched it until it was just a tiny moving light in the sky .. 

and then we went to dunkin donuts to celebrate .. at 4:45 in the morning ..

we ate our donuts and then the kids passed out for the hour drive back to orlando ..

besides having babies and running the marathon .. this was the coolest thing that i have done !!
