happy valentines day ..

i feel like i have been out of touch lately .. the 2 weeks of the crazy boat show business and then my "wednesday" .. i was exhausted .. so i slept all day sunday ..

 now i am back to almost full energy and brain power .. 

they had a Valentine Day dance at ellie's school last thursday 

a dance .. isn't she to little for a school dance .. the answer is yes !!

i am not ready for the social craziness that is heading my way .. 

the whole "dance" thing caused her mind to go blank ..

me: ellie where's your reading book ?

ellie: dreamy look on her face .. what mom .. my reading book .. thinking to herself .. what reading book is my mom talking about ..

me:  the reading book from school .. the one with the stories in it that you take a test on every friday.. the super heavy book that weighs down your book bag and takes up all the space ..

ellie: .... still thinking .. oh .. i don't know ..

me: shrieking .. WHAT ??

it went on like this for 2 weeks .. it all started when she heard that the 3rd grade might be allowed to go to the dance .. her cranium was all of sudden occupied with the brain of a child who forgets things .. all the time .. she was in lala land constantly .. it got to the point that i told her she was going to have to ride the bus and that i was not going to pack her lunches anymore .. 

that did it .. riding the school bus and eating school cafeteria food snapped her back to reality ..

for a moment at least .. 

anyway .. the dance .. 

i went of course .. i had to go .. there was no way i was just going to drop her off .. i know .. can we say let go jenny ..

no .. not doing it ..

anyway the dance .. she looked cute .. danced a little .. ate a snack and had a fun time ..

it was maybe worth all the craziness ..
