the talent show ..

ellie had a talent show at school on tuesday morning .. her and mackenzie jumped rope to fireflies by owl city .. cash .. granny and me went to watch ..

oh yea cash says .. i so do love to watch ellie and all her silly girl friends do things ..

this little guy started out the show .. he in is kindergarten .. he played a song on the fiddle ..

here are ellie and mackenzie in all their jump roping glory ..

after they were done cash went over and sat with them .. with the girls .. which is really where he likes to be .. oh kenzie .. as he calls her .. you are the best jump roper ever ..

oh .. now he is really working the girls .. going to play the shy type and cuddle up to ellie .. this really drives the girls wild ..

each contestant had a jar that you put money into .. the jar with the most money won the peoples choice award .. this was a fund raiser for the school .. ellie and mackenzie's jar is the one with the black paper and the little fireflies on it .. with the yellow #5 ..

this was one of the last acts .. they performed all kinds of "magic" tricks .. we didn't stay until the end .. cash was getting very antsy and ellie's class had to go and eat lunch .. but it was very entertaining to say the least ... got to love all those end of school year activities .. plus .. you have to be pretty brave to want to get up on stage and perform in front of the entire elementary school .. way to go ellie and mackenzie .. !

ducks .. geese and goslings ..

ellie's ducks showed up sunday morning in the rain .. they were wanting us to throw them some bread .. but we were out and they were not happy about that ..

then these guys showed up .. and boy oh boy were the mom and daddy goose on alert .. i could hardly get out on the back porch and take their picture ..

they were eating all the bugs out of jeff's yard ... there are 4 babies  .. 

come on the daddy says .. lets get a little closer to the water .. in case we need to make a quick escape ..

our "date" ..

the wedding reception/date was for wade schnell ..

the reception was at the tulsa country club .. the skyline view made me wish that i had brought my nice camera and tripod .. but .. that would not fit in my little black clutch .. so i borrowed mom's little point and shoot camera ..

cake .. i love cake .. cake is the best part of any wedding .. i don't care what anyone else says .. yes the bride is beautiful ... the groom handsome .. but the cake .. the cake says it all .. at least to me .. it is obvious that i had no issue with this cake .. that is jeff's on the right .. he went to go and get another beer .. and yes i ate his piece right after i took this picture .. he didn't need it ..

us .. on a date .. don't see that very often so i thought that i would take a picture of what a date looks like ..

wedding reception aka .. a date

on saturday night we are going to a wedding reception for a very good friend that we have known forever .. needless to say i am totally taking advantage of our night out and calling it a date .. so .. it is time to vote on an outfit ..

these are not being voted on .. i am wearing these even if we get 6 inches of rain and the parking lot at the tulsa country club is flooded ..

something pretty for my neck .. ok .. now for the voting .. you were getting worried weren't you ..

option #1 .. i love this lbd .. it hugs your body just a bit and goes past the knee so heels are a must ..

option #2 .. this is a fun lbd .. it has a cowl neck on it .. so probably won't wear pearls .. this dress can go either way really .. put it with a pair of red or black wedges and you have a fun little girls night out dress .. it would work for a wedding/date night though ..

option #3 .. this lbd .. oh my .. this lbd hugs or maybe cling is a better word to every curve .. it fits very nicely .. it just the right length .. will look amazing with pearls and red heels .. this lbd is sure to guarantee some action from my husband who would rather stay home and watch nitro circus and go bed at 8:30 .. this lbd might even get me a return engagement to the big city of tulsa for another date ..

so there you have it .. should i go safe and conservative .. or bold and daring .. or just stay in the middle .. i am leaning towards the bold and daring .. for just a few hours i want to "party like a rockstar' as ellie says .. i want to turn jeff's head .. i don't want to have conversation about world politics .. not that jeff and i talk about that alot .. i don't want to worry about work ..  i want to go out on a date with someone who has taken a shower .. does not smell like gas and pump oil .. someone who is wearing real clothes .. clothes with out battery acid holes in them .. oh boy .. i don't think that is asking alot  .. i want to stay out past 10 pm .. i want to visit with friends .. drink a glass or 2 or 3 of wine .. heck .. i might even want to dance .. gasp .. so .. those are my big plans for saturday night .. i will let you know how it all goes come sunday .. wish me luck ..

we just couldn't stand it ...

we just couldn't stand it any longer .. delivering back burris smith's boat gave jeff and the kids boat fever in the worst way .. so bad that we had to go home .. get johnny cash .. pack up a picnic dinner .. change into our suits .. and drive speedy quick to the shop .. goodbye truck .. see you before dark ..

we had just a few hiccups on our way out of duck creek .. i am getting our picnic put away .. the cooler tucked under the seat and towels spread out on the seats .. when i hear jeff yell .. oh dang it .. quick babe .. hand me the drain plug .. drain plug .. where is the drain plug .. do we have a drain plug .. in the mean time .. ellie says .. look daddy .. i see water .. babe .. babe .. the drain plug  .. honey .. i don't know where it is .. wow .. that's alot of water daddy .. found the plug .. quick .. hit the bilge switch .. that is alot of water .. it must have pumped for 20 minutes .. ok .. titanic disaster diverted ..

next up .. strange engine noise and smell .. ellie says ..  is that smoke daddy .. i mean really .. we are just past harbors view .. we have been in the boat for no more than 9 minutes .. well .. not to worry .. cash is on it .. in his purple flower life jacket no less ..

when the engine hatches are up on a boat and it is out on the lake .. that is not a good sign .. can i eat my cheetos now cash is saying .. can you turn up johnny cash mom .. i love this song .. i am thinking what .. do you all not see that we are in the middle of a mechanical situation here .. the engine hatches are up .. there is smoke coming from the back .. and you all want cheetos and johnny cash .. i am wondering if jeff brought his phone .. because i did not .. there is no one at harbors view .. the water is super cold .. well .. i say to myself .. i guess jeff can swim us back to the dock .. maybe noah is outside and he will see that we need help and come to our rescue .. oh .. problem fixed you say .. we are good to go .. we are not going to sink or catch on fire .. let the boating begin .. claps all around ..

so we went over to dripping springs and ate our picnic dinner .. turkey sandwhichs ..peanut butter no jelly for cash .. and lots and lots of cheetos ..

and orange pop .. poor cash .. it has been since his birthday party in november when he had an orange pop last .. he looks mesmerizied by it doesn't he .. like he has been longing for it all winter long and now he finally gets to have one ... he was overcome .. overcome with love for orange pop ..

delivering boats ..

it is time to deliver all the boats that we have been storing all winter back to our customers .. the kids and i get to help with the big boats .. we don't care so much to deliver back the seadoos .. they are not as much fun ..

this is burris smith's boat .. burris and shelby are just about the greatest customers ever .. first you have to take off the cover .. 

 

you start in the back and work your way around to the front .. jeff is hollaring .. hey babe .. could you maybe help me with the front .. yes dear .. just a minute .. got to take a picture ..

see .. all uncovered .. and ready to be backed into the water .. better get the "helpers" ..

there they are .. and uncle dan you will notice that cash is wearing his 'delivering boats back" pj's .. everyone in ..

now .. i get to finish backing the big truck into the water .. except that i didn't hear jeff say stop babe .. i backed in just a little bit to far ..

and they are off .. jeff is saying .. please put down the camera and pull the truck out of the lake .. yes dear i say .. just one more picture .. you better watch where you are going ..

ellie is giving me the half wave .. half .. ha ha .. we get to go in the boat with daddy and you have to drive the big truck .. yes ellie .. 15 minutes of piece and quiet .. heck .. i might even make a phone call and talk to someone without small children asking me if i have seen a bulldozer .. or where is swimming barbie .. or have someone ask me to make some lemonade .. yes .. poor poor me .. i will drive the big truck any day .. anytime ..

yea .. they made it to party cove safe and sound .. the water is to cold to stop and go swimming .. now that they see me they are going to pull the boat into the slip ..

in they come ..

next you put it back on the lift .. and cover it back up .. done .. one boat delivered .. time to walk up the hill to the truck ..

a few things here .. yes .. i  know cash is in his pj's .. .again .. he really did have on clothes earlier in the day .. he had just got up from his nap .. and we jumped in the car to go get ellie from school and then into the truck to deliver the boat .. so really ... the poor kid did not have time to change .. not like he would have changed if he was given the choice .. and the life jacket .. yes .. it is purple .. and yes that is a big flower on the back .. it seems that his other one has "grown legs and walked away mom" .. that was his response when i asked him where it was .. it is not hanging on the back porch where it should have been .. it is not in the swimming box .. or his closet .. or on a rock or in the dock .. sam i am .. i will not eat green eggs and ham .. oh .. wrong story .. anyway .. can't find it .. don't know where it is .. maybe the big storm has blown it away .. forever .. so .. in the mean time .. he will wear a purple one with a flower on it .. and yes .. jeff does have issue with this .. cash not so much .. he kinda likes the purple .. jeff does not ..

Mothers Day ..

we celebrated mothers day at mom's last night .. matt ..sammie .. kali . luke .. cathy and tom joined us .. along with aunt mary and ross .. mom made taco salad .. i know .. mom ended up doing ALL the work .. i had to work ... i am hopeful that ellie and cash helped out a bit  ..

i had mango salsa and chips .. i love this stuff .. i could eat a whole bowl full with just chips .. acutally that is just what i did .. a whole big bowl .. all by myself ..

ellie .. that is a silly face .. but look at sweet luke's sweet face ..

kali was cold .. so she snuggled up and was listening to her ipod ..

and cash .. he was finally getting to eat a cookie that ross brought .. he had to eat all his chicken first though .. and boy .. i should have turned off my flash ...

and dessert .. sammie was in charge of dessert .. she brought yummy chessecake .. strawberries and ice cream and cool whip .. so i had a little bit of all of it .. it was mothers day afterall .. so we ate dessert ... opened presents and then we all went home and left mom with a very dirty kitchen .. i am not sure how that worked out .. if it makes you feel any better i went home and had to move up laundry .. fold laundry and put laundry away ..
